Women's Rights Movement We conduct movements for women to have rights to participate in economic, political and social affairs in general, and help them find ways to solve problems associated with domestic violence, rape and sexual harassment by putting efforts on publicizing the problems and legislating necessary laws. -Support human rights movements -Do activities to help women raise their voice in political matters -Conduct movements for women securing property rights such as "Married Couple's Joint Property" -Monitor local governments' policies on women's rights and their budgets Prevention of Violence Against Women We put our all-out efforts on protecting women from all forms of violence. -Carry out various types of education activities -Develop visual references to prevent violence against women (movies, animations, photos, comics etc) -Sell, or lend visual references -Hold the event for "the Sexual Violation Prevention Week" Counseling We provide counseling on issues such as domestic violence, rape or sexual harassment, and provide shelters to those who need protection. -Counseling time: 10 a.m. - 5 pm (Mon-Fri) -Free Counseling on Legal Issues: every Monday -Face-to-Face Counseling: available only through reservation via a phone call -Counseling through e-mail: counsel@womanrights.org -Counseling through a phone call: domestic violence : 82-2-2263-6464 ...................................................... sexual harassment : 82-2-2263-6465 Cultural Activities -Publish materials related to counsel & human rights -Publish SWHL newsletter for the members -Do fundraising activities such as running "a bar for one day" -Hold the event, "the May, the Peaceful Month Without Domestic Violence" -Hold campaigns for the prevention of sexual harassment against wives -Hold campaigns to secure married women's property rights -Hosting of the 1st Film Festival for Woman Rights "FIWOM" Local Programs We do activities aimed to encourage women to play leading roles in their communities. In doing so, women themselves will be able to solve local problems and contribute to changing and improving the conditions of their own communities. -Monitor local assemblies -Hold the gathering, "Sisters Who Love My Local Communities." We run various programs for the development of local communities, such as promoting local gatherings and finding out local issues that should be discussed. Education Activities -Provide special education on counseling exclusively for women -Provide education to counselors on sexual harassment -Give lectures outside on sex education -Provide education for the prevention of sexual harassment at work -Educate youths on sex Leadership Training for Regular Members We run programs to enhance our regular members' leadership. Along with this, we sponsor various programs, such as " the Camp for Daughters", "the Single Women Camp", education on women's human rights, education for the prevention of violence at school and home and education on monitoring political matters. We hold various conferences and hearings as well. |
